📅 A Day in the Life of an Entrepreneur Parent

Today has been one of those days. You know the kind—where everything feels tough, exhausting, and, at times, nearly impossible. I found myself standing in line, waiting to pick up my kids from school, all while wrapping up a client meeting. 😅

🎧 While I was on the go, I came across something interesting—a conversation about the health crisis facing parents. It got me thinking about how much we, as parents (especially if you’re an entrepreneur), juggle every day. There’s this constant pressure to do it all: run a business, keep the kids healthy, well-fed, and thriving. It’s a real challenge, especially if you’re a single parent trying to build an empire. 🏗️

Reflecting on Entrepreneurship After Divorce

Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart, and I sometimes look back and wonder if starting my business shortly after my divorce was the best decision. 🤔 There are days, like today, when I wake up exhausted, feeling the weight of everything on my shoulders. It’s payroll day, and while I’ve been running things smoothly for the past four years, the financial pressures never fully disappear. 💸

Between client meetings, contracts, and creating video content, today has been non-stop. And now, as I sit here in this slow-moving line to pick up my kids, I can’t help but think about the unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves as entrepreneurs. 🛠️ Some days, I just want to pack up and disappear to a beach somewhere, far from responsibilities.

The Importance of Having Help

One thing that keeps me sane is my assistant. She’s been with me for years and helps keep things running when I’m on the brink of burning out. 🌟 If you’re an entrepreneur—whether you’re working solo or have a small team—you know the importance of having someone you can count on.

To my clients: If you’re reading this, please know that there are days when I may not be at 100%. It’s not because I don’t care; it’s just the nature of the journey. And to fellow entrepreneurs: Give yourself grace. 💖

Giving Yourself Grace as an Entrepreneur

Some days, you’re just not going to be operating at full capacity. That’s okay. It’s part of the process. We’re human. 🧘‍♂️ The burnout is real, and balancing life, business, and personal well-being is crucial.

Business friends, too, are essential. Having people around you who understand the entrepreneurial journey can make all the difference. These friends are the ones you can vent to, and they’ll offer support and guidance. Sometimes, just having someone to listen helps more than we realize. 👥

So, here’s my reminder to myself and to anyone reading: Do the best you can to balance your business, your personal life, and, most importantly, yourself.
